The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Levitra for the treatment of men with erectile dysfunction (ED) after a clinical trial showed that the drug was effective. The study was led by Dr. Michael A. Fagan of the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. The study was a randomized, controlled clinical trial in 20 men with ED. They were treated with Levitra 10 mg, one hour before sexual activity and one hour after the previous dosage of Viagra. The men also were asked to take Viagra and Levitra and the trial lasted approximately three weeks. Results showed that Viagra was the active ingredient in the drug. The effect of the drug was significant in comparison to placebo.
Levitra is an oral phosphodiesterase inhibitor that works by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual arousal. This mechanism is used to treat ED, a condition in which the penis is hard and erect. Levitra is approved by the FDA for the treatment of ED. Do not use Levitra if you are taking the medication for the treatment of ED. Do not take Levitra if you are taking certain other ED medications, including: Levitra 5 mg; Levitra 10 mg; and Viagra.
